Racial Harmony Day 2012

So this year is our last year in SMSS, and our last Racial Harmony Day in SMSS as well...
For all of you live under a rock, or just not in Singapore, RHD is a day where we commemorate the racial riots that occurred in Singapore before. We celebrate the fact that our diverse society has been living in harmony (By harmony I mean no MAJOR MAJOR conflict) ever since.
Its hard in our country to keep peace, considering we have so many races and religions in our country. I guess one thing I count lucky about living in this little red dot is that I have friends from all religions and races. No (outright) discrimination and no big conflict.
So for our last year... Since its the most easiest and the most flashy thing to wear, everyone wore something Indian. HAHA.
I am NOT joking. Everyone was wearing saris and punjabi suits... It was nuts.
It was a really fun day though. It started with the Malay/Indian race, where most of us not participating in the race were just sweltering in the heat while cheering our friends (and houses) on.
Then ONE HOUR RECESS.
It was food paradise and I am not even exaggerating one bit. There was satay, teh tarik, Dragon's Beard, Ding Ding Tang, and SO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD. It. Was. Awesome.
Especially for a foodie like me.
Afterward was the Chinese/Eurasian race, but it was mostly Chinese. HAHA.
I participated in that one. And we were in the IHS so music was being blasted and guess what? It was One Direction. People (especially L) went nuts. HAHA.
Then we had English, where we were brought to this exhibition thing-o to learn more about different cultures and their celebrations and whatnot. Then we had to do a reflection...
Then I think we had SS... It was okay-ish.
I mean, the fact that we had lessons after a celebration kind of explains our mood, don't you think?
Then I think we went home... at least, I'm pretty sure I went home.
I don't remember anymore.
So, our last RHD... Not that bad.
P.S. ohyes, ACJC didn't accept me. Oh well. Guess which school I'm never going to even if I could? [still bitter]
