The day are passing by so much faster than I expected!
HAPPY DAY 5 OF BLOGMASSSS (I realise it is actually day 6 so I shall post it up later sshh sorry I've been busy).
Day 5 was a pretty relaxed day. I headed to school til about 1PM then I went to support my ABM friends with their project where they had to share about traditional dances. It was really fun and I think they pretty much succeeded with this project (yay all you ABM-ers, be proud of yourselves!), then I came home, did some work and then went out for dinner with my momma!
It was a nice dinner at the Soup Spoon though I had SUCH ABSOLUTE DIFFICULTY TRYING TO CHOOSE WHICH SOUP TO HAVE.
It was actually one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make in my entire life.
And then we went around Christmas present shopping for people and explored the new shopping mall and went crazy inside this one shop where (and I am quoting my mum here) 'we will be back again'.
Aaanyway, for Blogmas day 5, I want to talk about family.
First of all, don't scoff because me? Talking about family? HAH.
Well, hey, that's part of the package deal that came with family right?
You fight sometimes, but family is family no matter what.
I've been very lucky to have almost something like 2 families in my lifetime.
When I was young, my parents were working hard earning money so they hired a baby-sitter. I still remember every morning I would be terribly sleepy and my dad would carry me to the car and I'll sit in the back seat with my mother and they would drive me to my baby-sitter's house and my baby-sitter would be waiting at the pick-up area and carry me up to her house and there I would stay until night time, where my dad would come pick me up.
She was my baby-sitter for about 7 years and I grew accustom to calling her 'ma-mee', her husband 'papa' and her kids my 'kor-kor' and 'jie-jies' (brother & sisters).
I still keep in contact with them, which is great because they keep me grounded. Whenever I go out of line, they are always there to scold me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Also, being the eldest in my family, I grew up without siblings of my own (until I turned 7) so I always looked to them as my brother & sisters. I still see them every year during Chinese New Year (they are always the very first family we visit) but it just isn't the same.
I'm always thankful for them though. I can't imagine what my childhood would have been like if they weren't there.
Secondly, my real family, of course. I've always found myself clashing with my parents but no matter what, I'm still so thankful that they haven't kicked me out (I would've kicked myself out long long ago). I am possibly the worst kid in the world but my parents have always been there to support me.
And I thank them everyday because of that. I'm not the perfect daughter, and I cause them so much trouble but yet, they still feed me, protect me, love me. I love them so much even though I don't show it most of the time.
Anyway, all I really sum up this post is to really love your family. Especially this holiday season. Give them a peck on the cheek, a hug, a smile. Love them because they are your family and they love you too. Enjoy Christmas with them.
